Ordinance #289 - Sensitive Natural Areas

An Ordinance amending Article 5 of the Marion City Subdivision Regulations to add a new section, Section 8 regarding sensitive natural areas.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF MARION, SOUTH DAKOTA:

That Article 5 of the Marion City Subdivision Regulations is amended to add Section 8, which shall read as follows:

Section 8. Sensitive Natural Areas.

Sensitive natural areas such as wetlands, streams, lakes, ponds, and reservoirs shall be reviewed with regard to the special character of the area taking into consideration harmonious design, environmental protection, and topographical restraints. Subdivision plans shall be required to show plans for preservation of the area(s) through corridor preservation, conservation easements, or land dedication.
