That Chapter 7.03 of the Marion City Ordinances is amended to add Section
7.03.04, which shall read as follows:
7.03.04
Speeding in School Zones.
1. Speeding in School
Zones. It shall be unlawful for
any person to operate or drive any vehicle at a speed greater then 15 miles per
hour when passing a school during school recess in a school zone, or while
children are going to or leaving school, or during opening and closing hours for
such school, or during the hours of operation of such school.
A “School Zone” is any area marked with an appropriate school zone
sign and appropriate speed limit signs.
Violation. Violation
of this Ordinance is a Class 2 misdemeanor.
